The Singapore Sling is a unique concoction , that was invented in the city-state of Singapore. The traditional cocktail drink has become somewhat of a symbol for this little but busy island, although these days Singapore is about much more than traditional ways.

Singapore has outgrown its somewhat dusty image of a 'fine' city. It has become a bustling center, where entertainment and good food is never far away. The Singapore Flyer that opened last year, is currently the largest ferris wheel in the world (of course global competition makes this never a constant, but enjoy it while it is!). The wheel happens to stand within the designated track of the formula one circuit, which was also organized for the first time last year. Further adding to the buzz in Singapore are the two casinos that are set to open on the island. One situated in Marina Bay, is clearly visible from the main highway into the centre, and bound to open early 2010. The other is being developed on Sentosa Island, the little seaside entertainment island that is part of Singapore.
Dining and Entertainment
Food has seen a revolution of the past years in Singapore, and several top restaurants have opened shop here, some on spectacular locations. And nightlife keeps growing to greater hights, with the addition of several new clubs in locations like trendy Clarke Quay, as well as entirely new entertainment locations.

Singapore hotels can currently be found on the cheap side, while the economy is still recovering. A five star hotel can be found on the cheap below US$150; a three star hotel could be within reach around US$50. Hotels in Singapore are generally of great quality, and chances are that you'll find that hotel categories in Singapore correspond with those one star higher in other parts of the world.
