But you will also find a unique charm, and a friendly atmosphere that will make sure you enjoy a trip of a few days to this lovely little city.
Places to See
In the centre of Bruges you will find plenty of medieval architecture, many of it intact and still in use. Bruges also has a series of man-made waterways that flow through the city. Some are calling Bruges 'the Venice of the North' because of this. The scenery is so spectacular, that in fact a Colin Farrell film was shot there (suitingly names 'In Bruges').
Nightlife
Nightlife in Bruges is all centered around food and drink. 'Mossels' (mussels), are one of the typical dishes that you'll find here, and invariably the mussels are being watered down with one of the great Belgian beers. Belgian beer tends to be a bit darker and often a bit sweeter than pilsener or ale. Alcohol levels in Belgian beer also tends to be higher than average, so do take it easy on them!
Hotels

Hotels are plenty, and many of them are smaller in scale, and offer a friendly, homely atmosphere. A few unique options can be found around town, making use of the many medieval buildings that stand in Bruges.
