Opus Hotel in Vancouver, Canada

Opus Hotel Vancouver

From sea to sky, Vancouver is one of the most naturally picturesque cities in the world.  With the Pacific Ocean on its doorstep and the Coast Mountains out its back door, Vancouver is as majestic as city can be, and the OPUS Hotel Vancouver celebrates that sense of natural majesty.

Located right in the heart of trendy Yaletown, the OPUS is just steps from Vancouver’s hottest restaurants, shops and spas, and a short distance from excellent beaches and the famous Stanley Park.

Inside the hotel, the feel is residential, with its 96 rooms boldly decorated in one of five colourful themes.  Red is modern and masculine, with walls the colour of cranberry and a minimalist approach to its furnishings. Green rooms are described as irreverent, with apple-green walls and a retro-contemporary feel.  Blue rooms are stylish and sensual, decorated in a foxglove hue. Yellow rooms have golden overtones, and a more conservative look.  Taupe is the most amusing theme, with faux-fur and chrome giving it a Hollywood theme.

Rates range from $180 CDN to $400 CDN (roughly the same in USD) for an executive suite, with many packages on offer, adding on champagne, breakfast, dinner or spa services.

The Penthouse suite comes with floor to ceiling windows and wrap-around balcony overlooking downtown, the mountains, and Vancouver’s False Creek, and a two-sided fireplace that warms both the living room and the bedroom.

Aside from stylish, unique rooms, the OPUS is home to the One Hundred Days Restaurant and the famous OPUS Bar, which feels like a comfortable and stylish living room.  The restaurant gets its name from the idea of an ever-changing 100-day experience, meshing graffiti art and cuisine.  What began as a stripped down dining room and exterior is enhanced and changed every day by local artist Vince Dumoulin, as a backdrop to the changing menu of Mediterranean cuisine.

The OPUS Vancouver has been voted one of the world’s top 500 hotels by Travel + Leisure Magazine and Conde Nast Travel, and its easy to see why.  From its bold concepts, to the little touches such as free BMW chauffeur service to all downtown locations, the OPUS feels like a hip and comfortable home away from home.
