*Tip: How to Pack for Your Family Vacation

Family Vacation

Planning a family vacation can be a lot of fun. Going on a family vacation is always fun, but packing for a family vacation can be a bit of a challenge. Here are some tips that will get you off on a good start.

Get organized

The more organized you are, the less likely you are to forget something important. The best way to make sure that everything your family is going to need for their vacation gets backed is to make a list of the things that everyone is going to need. Make sure you check and double check the list before you leave.

Having everything you need packed into a suitcase doesn't do you any good if that suitcase gets left at home. You and your family need to devise a plan to make sure that all of your suitcases make it out of your house and into your car.

Be Prepared

It really is better to over pack than to not pack something that you will need. Just because you are going somewhere that is suppose to be warm and sunny, doesn't mean that it won't rain and get cold. It doesn't hurt to pack a couple of sweatshirts and a few pairs of jeans. You should also have a windbreaker, sunscreen, and bug repellent in your suitcase.

If you are going to be travelling with small children you should make sure that you have packed some books and cheap games to keep them occupied. You should also make sure that you have packed a basic first aid kit.

Packing Clothing

It is amazing how much space clothing takes up. One of the best ways to make sure that you have enough clothing and still have space in your suitcase is to roll your clothing instead of folding it. Not only will this create more space in your suitcase but it will also keep your clothing from getting wrinkled. If you are packing things like shampoo, conditioner, and toothpaste you can roll them into some of your clothing, this will keep the bottles from breaking while you are travelling.

Bring Some Detergent

It doesn't hurt to pack a small bottle of laundry detergent in your luggage. If you have small children they are going to get their clothes dirty and you will want to wash your clothes. Bringing laundry detergent with you is an excellent way to make sure you can wash your laundry and not spend a small fortune on the tiny boxes of detergent that your hotel sells in vending machines.

Pack Some Snacks

No matter how carefully you plan, your children's regular routine is going to be disturbed when you are on a family vacation. The biggest problem is that they won't be falling asleep and waking up at their regular times. The next biggest problem is that their meals won't be at the same time. The best way to make sure that your vacation isn't riddled with temper tantrums you should make sure that you pack some blankets, pillows, and snacks.
